Bad news for Global Warming fans

"But clearer, sunnier days could mean bad news for global warming. Instead of cloudiness slowing rising temperatures, sunshine would be expected to accelerate the warming."

"The finding went against all scientific thinking. By the mid-80s there was undeniable evidence that our planet was getting hotter, so the idea of reduced solar radiation - the Earth's only external source of heat - just didn't fit. And a massive 10% shift in only 30 years? Ohmura himself had a hard time accepting it. "I was shocked. The difference was so big that I just could not believe it," he says. Neither could anyone else. When Ohmura eventually published his discovery in 1989 the science world was distinctly unimpressed. "It was ignored," he says."

"Researchers say global dimming, also known as solar dimming, partly offsets the global warming that most scientists agree is produced by "greenhouse gases" such as auto exhaust and emissions from coal-burning power plants"

I know, I know, you out there who believe that global warming is a dead solid fact will say this is nonsense.  Even after looking at proof and hearing scientists talk about it you will say it's bogus but what if?  I know it's difficult to grasp this, but what if the very scientists you have trusted all of your life have been wrong about this?  It wouldn't be the first time.  Science is a platform that is constantly changing it's mind on things.

So, what if the global warming thing isn't happening?  Ok, let's take it down a notch.  Let's not even say that.  Let's just say that this is a new angle in the whole discussion.  Let's just say that this is a possibility.  What do you say about that?

I'll say one thing about your first quote: Venus.

Yes, our sister planet Venus. Covered in clouds so thick you can't see the surface in the visual spectrum, Venus' surface temperature is a toasty 900 degrees Farenheit.

Why? Smog traps heat on the surface of the planet. It's the same reason why cloudless winter nights are so cold - heat escapes from the planet when there is no barrier to hold it in.

Sorry, but your articles really don't make a coherent argument, especially when you include lines like "the global warming that most scientists agree is produced by "greenhouse gases."

Yes, Venus is one of the best evidences of the GH effect--farther from the sun than Mercury (nearly twice as far on average; 0.72 AU versus 0.38) yet hotter (much hotter on average; ~730K versus a daytime *high* of ~700K on Mercury).

It's not that the articles are incoherent, it's just that they aren't "Bad News for Global Warming Fans"....

So, basically, no matter what anyone says, you won't be swayed from your opinion?

So despite what scientists say about this, you won't change your mind?

Huh? I believe the global/solar dimming articles--I see no reason not to. The problem is is that there's nothing in those articles that's "bad news for global warming fans" as you stated in the blog's title.

The third article you cite even states, "...the *global warming* that most scientists *agree* is produced by 'greenhouse gases'...". So I'm not really sure what it is that you want me to reconsider; neither (your third link was broken last time I checked) of these articles goes against the theory of global warming (GW). Both the first and third quote are implying and stating, respectively, that GD is counter-acting GW (and in the second article one of GD's proponents even broaches the possibility of a causal relationship between the two).
